APARTMENT RIVE GAUCHE GENEVA

Renovation and restructuring of a lake view apartment in Geneva

One of kind project with a strong emphasis on audacious colors and modern materials, this renovation project in Geneva allowed us to rethink the space. Primarily, the layouts of the rooms were changed by creating a second bedroom and moving the kitchen to create an open living space. Different wall works have been implemented such as hiding pipes and adding moldings to embellish the walls.

This eclectic apartment was designed around various color schemes through contrasting colors with custom-made furniture and strong designers’ pieces. The choice of furniture is modern with a 70’s touch and a mix of square and oval shapes such as the oval dining table and the squared canning chairs inspired by Pierre Jeanneret’s designs.

In the entrance, you are welcomed by a mesmerizing wallpaper by Nobilis and Maison Sarah Lavoine which leads the way to the living room and its custom-made library. To add some color to the oval shaped sofa by Eichholtz, we created warm and graphic custom-made cushions with fabrics from Manuel Canovas, Nobilis and Zinc. The kitchen’s dark blue tone contrasts with the lighter tones of the living area. Custom made bar chairs were created with an orange velvet nobilis fabric which adds a touch of liveliness to the space.

In the two bedrooms, custom-made wardrobes were created around the bed to optimize storage. On each side of the bed, we created two niches as a nightstand for a practical and discreet use. The first bedroom is embellished in terracotta tones with a textured Elitis wallpaper while the second room’s more neutral tones are brightened by custom cushions in orange and lemon yellow fabrics by Carlucci and Manuel Canovas.

Regarding the choice of lighting, the objective was to emphasis on round shapes and gold structure to create a synergy between all the rooms. Above the kitchen bar, we displayed elegant suspensions with a soft light and sleek ablate finish. In the entrance, a 70’s inspired lamp with its gold brass lamp shade and multicolor balls accentuates its colorful features.

Finally, to accessorize the space, the objective was to reinforce the original and lively aspect to this apartment. With witty Jonathan Adler accessories, the Travel books by Assouline and our own collection Dome Precious, we aimed to create a colorful and joyful atmosphere.

Overall, this project is an emphasis on the many directions we can take to provide the appropriate design for each client, their personality, needs and wishes.
